Discover Vasso Galati’s Masterpieces: Handcrafted Jewelry in Milan 2025.

1) What inspires you most about the aesthetic and rhythm of Milan?

The atmosphere of Milan inspires me to highlight elegance through the art of weaving silver. My handcrafted, knitted jewellery, featuring pearls and precious stones, strikes a balance between the classical and the modern, reflecting the same philosophy that defines Milanese fashion.

2) How do you perceive the relationship between Italian style and the Greek spirit of your jewellery?

There is a natural connection. Both cultures honour tradition while allowing for experimentation. My Greek roots bring the sea, the light, and the warmth, while Italian style emphasises refinement and confidence. Together they create jewellery that feels authentic yet cosmopolitan.

3) What does the word “chic” mean to you through your work?

For me, chic means discreet luxury. It is refinement that doesn’t need to shout. My weaving technique embraces pearls and stones with subtlety, creating something elegant, timeless, and warm.

4) What is the image of the “Milanese woman” wearing Vasso Galati’s handmade jewellery?

She is confident, refined, and bold enough to express herself through unique pieces. She knows that jewellery is not decoration but a reflection of her personality.

5) If Milan were a jewel, how would you design it?

For me, Milan would be silver—radiant but never pretentious, timeless yet full of character. I would design a handwoven silver piece featuring pearls, something sculptural yet wearable, that reflects the duality of heritage and modernity.

6) What inspires you to continue your creative journey as a jewellery designer?

Creating with my hands is my greatest joy. Each jewel becomes a memory, an emotion, a story that connects me to people. That connection is what keeps me inspired.

7) What is the most touching comment you’ve ever heard about one of your pieces?

Someone once told me that wearing my necklace felt like carrying “a piece of light” with them. It was the most moving compliment, because it proved that jewellery can hold emotion.

8) Seeing your creations travel around the world, what new perspective has it given you?

It has shown me that jewellery is no longer just an accessory—it is part of the global fashion dialogue. It inspires me to evolve constantly, while proving that Greek craftsmanship has a place on the international stage.

9) If you could connect a personal moment with the elegance of Milan, what would it be?

Walking through the streets during Fashion Week, I observe how Italians turn even simple elements into style. That effortless elegance is something I will never forget.

10) What have you learned about yourself through your journey as a creator?

Patience is essential. Creating by hand teaches you to slow down and give each piece its time. It is through this process that I discovered my own artistic rhythm.

11) What inspires you most about Milan Fashion Week?

The energy of the streets. Beyond the runways, Milan breathes fashion in every piazza. That dynamic spirit pushes me to present my work with the same intensity and confidence.

12) How do you approach design to combine tradition and contemporary elegance?

I weave silver with threads to connect Greek tradition to modern aesthetics. Pearls and stones bring refinement, while the weaving technique lends the piece a fresh and new feel.

13) If you had to summarise your message as a Greek handmade jewellery designer in Milan in one phrase, what would it be?

“Authenticity is the true luxury.”

14) What does it mean for you to showcase your jewellery through street style during Milan Fashion Week?

It means showing that jewellery lives outside the runway. It belongs to the streets, to real people, to everyday elegance. That is where it becomes part of fashion’s actual heartbeat.

15) How has the Italian market received your jewellery?

With curiosity and appreciation. Italians understand craftsmanship, and they value pieces that are both unique and wearable. That gives me the strength to keep creating.

16) What defines the uniqueness of your jewellery?

Everything I create is handmade. Even if two pieces look similar, they are never identical. Each one carries its own rhythm, personality, and soul.

17) Where do you draw inspiration for combining weaving with metal in your new collection?

From the Greek sea. The movement of the waves, the sparkle of the rocks—these natural elements inspire me to weave softness with strength, yarn with silver.

18) What do you love about thread as a material in your jewellery?

The thread connects me to traditional Greek craft while allowing endless creativity. It adds warmth and unexpected colour, making each jewel feel alive.

19) How much does the new Vasso Galati collection shape a woman’s style?

Jewellery transforms your look. My new collection adds personality and refinement to any style, whether classic or avant-garde.

20) What message would you like to share with the audience in Milan?

That handmade jewellery carries more than beauty—it carries emotion, memory, and identity. I hope every piece reminds people that uniqueness is the most excellent form of elegance.
